we just came back from a nice evening at the green mill (a chicago bar famous for being Al Capone’s favourite bar). my digi cam was loaded with plenty of pictures i took there. unfortunately i lost almost all of them due to a computer failure - it is a pity. but it was not our last visit at the green mill after all.

i put up another album on privatgelaen.de. It is from the day the “Picture of the Moment” was taken a few entries before.
right now we have -21 degrees Celsius including the chill factor (how it feels like) - at noon during a sunny day! you just can not stay outside for more than a few minutes - and there is definitely no way of protectiong yourself against this kind of weather… brrrrr. Near the lake it is even worse and we are very close to the lake.

I have reorganized the source code of plasticshore. (I hope it is still working on all systems.) Editing pages is now easier then it was before. I have allready used it to change little things here and there.

sorry for being so lazy with updates. we are doing quite well here. Somehow I am feeling very busy despite my life in Chicago is as close to holiday as it gets - so far at least :-)
Since we have been here for more than a month now I am eager to get things done. You probably won’t belive me when i say that I am going to upload some old but nice pictures - but I will very soon. promised :-)
talking about old pictures - I see so many nice places and views everyday - it really hurts not being able to take new pictures. and olympus USA is everything but cooperative.

since my parents arrived the weather has changed. only on their first day it was very very hot but then it changed. it ihas been cold and foggy for two days now, with some rain coming and going. but forecast is not to bad. we may even rent a car for the weekend and explore the countryside...
since i have not had much time before it is even worse now. but i try to keep you up to date :-) besides: with the cold weather we enjoy our new cosy apartment even more.

yesterday verena and i have been to ikea (eikia). It is located in Schaumburg - a suburb of Chicago. since we don’t have a car it was a quite adventurous trip.
we were sort of desperate when we ended up at a street in the middle of nowhere without any sidewalks. but we got home finally having done all the major furniture shopping.
tonight we are going to move most of our stuff from the hotel to the apartment. I am glad that phillip is going to help us with his car. this will be our last night at the hotel :-)

we are in Chicago. Entering the States took some time but went very well. The hotel is better than expected and a lot better than the one i have been to in New York last year. (no bunk beds this time :-)
The City is great. We have just eaten some burgers at wendy`s. the only problem we encountered so far is: We are both prepared for autumn and winter - but here is very hot sumer! something like 27 degrees celsius. but that is not a real problem.
i may connect with my own computer on monday, wich means that i will come up with some pictures soon. Check back for updates !
